FAQs

WHAT IS NCSY ALUMNI?

NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connect, inspire and empower Jewish teens and encourage passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition. As a complement to the NCSY high school programming, NCSY continues to connect alumni of NCSY and JSU to authentic Jewish experiences after their graduation from high school, whether it be on a gap year program in Israel, or on a college campus.

I NEVER RIDE. WILL I BE ABLE TO FINISH A TOUR?
Absolutely! It might take a little bit of training, but the 15 mile option is very do-able, you may even surprise yourself and be able to do more!

I AM CONCERNED THAT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO RAISE THE REQUIRED FUNDS. WILL I BE ABLE TO DO IT?
Even if you’ve never raised money before, just a little bit of hard work and networking will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others.

Experience has shown that it is not only possible, but quite enjoyable as you work to reach this goal.  NCSY is a worthwhile organization and our riders are enthusiastic about its mission. You will be surprised how friends, family, and co-workers will respond to your effort to join our ride to help this wonderful cause. Remember, you are not asking people to make donations… you are asking them to sponsor YOU and YOUR efforts! Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $18 or more.

NCSY will be with you every step of the way to help you reach your goal! Should you have any additional concerns or questions related to the fundraising aspect, please email us at bike@ncsy.org

Online contributions can be made by credit card on the rider’s personalized page found on our website, www.bikencsy.org. Canadian tax receipts will be sent out towards the middle of 2017.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM UNABLE TO ATTEND THE EVENT ONCE I BEGIN MY FUNDRAISING?
While you will be sorely missed, and we hope that you would be able to join us next year, the funds that you have raised will be contributed as a general donation to NCSY post high school scholarships.

CAN I GET A REFUND FOR MY RIDE ENTRY OR GIVE/SELL MY REGISTRATION TO SOMEONE ELSE?

No. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is partly due to insurance/liability reasons. If you cannot attend for any reason, email bike@ncsy.org to request that your registration fee be converted into a tax-deductible charitable donation.

ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS?

Youths ages 3 to 9 must ride with an adult on a tandem bike, in a child’s seat, on a tag-along bike, or in a bike trailer. Riders ages 10 to 17 may ride their own bikes, but must remain in close proximity to the adult with whom they were registered.

MY CHILD WILL BE WITH ME IN A TRAILER OR CHILD SEAT. DOES SHE HAVE TO BE REGISTERED?

HOW LONG DOES THE RIDE TAKE?

That’s up to you! You can ride at your own pace and stop at rest areas for as long as you like, provided you remain in front of the SAG vehicles trailing the back of the pack. The finish festival closes at 4PM, so be mindful of your pace and ride accordingly.
